Number Eleven is a prominent SPECTRE operative and board member from the 1965 James Bond film Thunderball. He was played by Murrash Kash.
Film biography[]
Number Eleven is present at the SPECTRE abinet meeting in Paris and was the fourth to give his report to the Board and Blofeld. According to his report, both he and Number Nine were involved in the distribution of Red China narcotics in the United States. The operation netted $2,300,000; considerably less than the organization had expected, causing Blofeld to demand a justification for Number 11's substandard performance. Number Eleven claims that there are low profit margins in the American black market due to heavy competetion from Latin American drug cartels. Blofeld said he anticipated that setback, and accuses one of the SPECTRE agents of embezzlement.
Having decided on an appropriate course of action, Blofeld prepares to execute the guilty man by way of electrocution. He asks Number Eleven if he is being truthful with him about the financial statements, to which the man nervously replies, "To the penny, Number One". Blofeld proceeds to electrocute Number Nine, whom he originally suspected of the theft. This marked a common used strategy by SPECTRE, casting a glaring accusation on someone else to take the heat off the guilty party, then punishing the guilty at the final moment.
The man's ultimate fate is unknown, but the number was later assumed by SPECTRE operative Helga Brandt in You Only Live Twice.
